The invention of the DVR is probably one of the best inventions in a long time. My wife and I look forward to sitting down at night and watching some of favorite shows. We both have very busy schedules, (like most people), and most of the time they are opposite of each other. When we finally are home at the same time, we like to watch our favorite TV shows that we recorded on our DVR.
Some of our favorite shows are CSI, NCIS, Burn Notice and White Collar . So I pose the question, what are some of your favorite shows? You can even talk about shows you used to watch as a kid.

We also love our DVR. I can what the shows that I don't want the kids to see after they have gone to bed or when I am alone.
ReplyDeleteMy husband is always asking me to fast forward through the commercials and is upset when I tell him I am watching live t.v.
Our family also loves Burn Notice and White Collar! Big Bang also cracks me up.
As a science lover I do enjoy Myth Busters and think students could build a lot of background knowledge just watching this!
Mork and Mindy was a favorite as well as the A-team, Remington Steele and Blue Moon.
As a kid we also love the Sunday night Disney flick. I still love Kurt Russell!
Dave,
ReplyDeleteWe use On-demand and our favorites are NCIS (I told you we saw Ziva in Venice!!), White Collar, Top Gear (BBC) and Hawaii 5-0. The family also loves Myth Busters and Dirty Jobs (Mike Rowe has a very interesting background).
Like Cindy, as a kid Mork and Mindy and Sunday night Disney was the best!!
I miss having on demand. I am jealous. When I bought the house I down graded and did not get cable or Tivo. I found that when I did have DVR capabilities I looked forward to watching what I really wanted. I could participate with conversations after "catching up" over the weekend.
ReplyDeleteNext best thing...Hulu. Who needs cable when you get all of your favorites online for free?
I like Glee, Burn Notice, Human Target, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.
Wow!.. A lot of you watch the same shows I watch! When I mention a show to my class, they all get excited that I watch a show that they watch, especially Dirty Jobs, (Mike Rowe is great!) and Mythbusters.
ReplyDeleteI loved Tivo when I had it. I must have recorded 8-10 shows a week and then would spend the weekend catching up. ABC was the place to be...Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Brothers and Sisters, Desperate Housewives. Currently, my two must-haves are Glee and Castle...love, love, love these two shows!
ReplyDeleteHey Dave, should I talk about how you used to watch Sha-na-na and thought you were Bowser???
I thought I did a good Bowser! Thoses were the good old days!
ReplyDeleteYes, they were...
